Go toward Kitulgala City and take an intriguing ferry ride to reach the other side of the Kelani River. Hiking paths cross Brooks go over some difficult boulders and go by some undiscovered streams and waterfalls. Take a revitalising plunge into circulation and then descend to the starting point.
Then get into your wet clothes grab a paddle and embark on a thrilling and adventurous 05-kilometer league whitewater rafting trip on the Kelani River. About two hours are needed to finish the journey. Get off the board when you get to the stop have a happy swim and then head for the shore.
The real Bridge over the River Kwai is located in Thailand but director David Lean used a wooden bridge installation for a poignant scene in which a train blows up on the bridge.
